With Thanksgiving behind us and the holiday season looming, the search is on for the perfect gifts for Mom, hubs, your girlfriends and the rest of your clan. Our favorite place to gather ideas is over at New York Mag’s “Shop-a-Matic.” They have 150 unique gift ideas for everyone on your list, even for the most discerning recipient who already has it all! We love the “One Line a Day” journal to give to your best gal pal or the bride-to-be as she counts down the days leading up to the wedding and then the “newlywed” days thereafter. On the way to our lunch meeting this afternoon, we happened to stumble upon a plethora of food stands set up for the annual Madison Square Eats, including Roberta’s, Fatty Crab, Almond, Red Hook Lobster Pound, and Momofuku Milk Bar. After quickly vetoing our coffee spot location, we decided to hold our meeting in the park over butternut squash pizza, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and Belgium waffles. If only every meeting could be this decadent!
We are fortunate enough to have worked with some of the best vendors in New York City and beyond and recently had the pleasure of working with Francesco from Films by Francesco and we were immediately blown away by his work! Not only is his team incredibly easy going and fun-loving, but they produce incredible videos. They are so well respected that they have worked with big names including Chelsea Clinton, Nicole Richie, and Miranda Lambert. Check out this amazing video shot in St. Barths!
Tomorrow, one of our favorite days of the year is here…the beginning of NYC Fashion Week! And what better way to celebrate than with another Fashion’s Night Out? Tons of sales are going on throughout the city, so make sure to drop by your store of choice, drink a glass of champagne, and buy up their new fall collection. Recently, we received a gift from a little jewelry store called “Femmegems,” which is based in both Greenwich, CT and Manhattan. It was such a cute gift that we went searching on their website for more ideas, and found out that they have jewelry making parties at each of their locations. Yes, it sounds cheesy, but it certainly isn’t. They provide wine, sparkling water, and plenty of hors d’oeuvres (different price ranges for what you fancy), as well as the necessary staff to assist you make whatever piece of jewelry you desire. And even if you aren’t very creative, their staff will give advice and tips while you string your “gems!” Such a cute and different idea for your next gal pal’s bachelorette!

Thanks to Eater for posting about “secret” off the menu items at some of our favorite restaurants throughout the city! How good does the “Egg” dish at Le Bernardin or the Bash Burger at Lure Fish Bar sound? YUM!
One of our favorite downtown spots, Torrisi Italian Specialties, just recently bought space next door and plans on expanding their yummy goodness to an Italian deli called Parm. While they are open now as a deli at T.I.S. during lunchtime, there is usually a 20-30 minute wait for their amazing concoctions. Hopefully this means with the expansion that the wait will be reduced to 10-15 minutes? Whatever the wait may be, it’s absolutely worth it (especially for their Chicken Parm Sandwich)!
